SCHOLAR'S BAKEHOUSE

SATURDAY AFTERNOON: 4/21/12
We went to lunch today at an incredible place called Scholar's Bakehouse. You could do either breakfast or lunch and while I initially believed I was going in for breakfast, it completely turned to lunch after I saw the menu.

Had this incredible portabello sandwich on fresh Pane Bello bread with onions/tomatoes/provo cheese/and an incredible aioli! It was served with a  crunchy pickle and grapes! I ended up taking off the top piece of bread and eating it open-faced to save some unnecessary calories :) STILL just as delicious

We also got a mac and cheese that we split (could TOTALLY taste the truffle oil in it!)

And ended with a slice of cheesecake which we also split! I have learned that the best thing to do if you want rich, indulgent foods is to try to have a smaller portion. That way you don't feel completely deprived and end up bingeing later, but also cut back on the calories by halving the portion size.

After lunch we went to IU's campus to celebrate Little 500 (an annual bike race that is a big deal) and also Christine's impending graduation!
Drinks are as follows..
Key lime pie shots (only one was mine :) )
Shot of whiskey

Long Island
Christine and I shared both of these

We had a lovely afternoon just spending time together talking, what we do best. While this was a little excessive for an afternoon (or a lot excessive) we had eaten enough lunch and spent enough time at places not to feel these too much.

There is nothing like getting to spend some quality time with one of my oldest and dearest friends!
