Friday Evening

or...WE ALMOST WENT TO A WEDDING
or...THE WEDDING THAT WASN'T
or...WET AND WILD TRAFFIC
So many post title possibilities :)

Backing up:
My return to the gym was glorious!!! For several reasons!
Reason 1: My leg didn't hurt one tiny bit, even when I ran
Reason 2: I had a great workout with a lots of time to spend at the gym
Reason 3: I got my first PR on my mile since May 30th!! My previous PR was 8:19

When I got to the gym I hopped on the treadmill full of excitement to run. I started at a 6.4 and after just a minute in it was feeling sooo good. I decided to take it up to a 6.7. My goal was never to PR initially, I just wanted to run a smooth mile after not running for 2 weeks. Well once I hit .4 mi. and was feeling awesome I thought "Let's do this" and kept cranking until at the end I was running a 7.9 and shaved 3 seconds off my last time.

Walked for a cool down and burned 135 on the treadmill total. Then I moved onto the arc trainer with Mr. Harry Potter and did 30 minutes for 300 calories burned. THEN I was leaving the gym and saw my turbo kick teacher with a guy that she trains. We chatted for a minute and she jokingly said "Maybe Jordan wants to join us for walking lunges around the track?" To her surprise I said "Sure, I've got a little extra time :)" By the time the lap around the track was finished my thighs and glutes were burnin' but in such a good way. So you see? Great workout!

Tonight around 5 we headed a little south of Indy for the wedding. The girl getting married was Zach's neighbor growing up and a childhood/family friend and I believe she was at our wedding as well (her brother was IN our wedding). It was a very rainy evening, but that wasn't too problematic. What was problematic was the traffic. Oh, the traffic. It was HORRIBLE! Zach's GPS on his phone shows red areas where traffic was stopped and there were tons of them on our route. When we finally got to a point where we should have been less than half an hour away I asked what it said our ETA was- still over an hour! That's when we knew...we would not be making this wedding.
We headed straight to the reception hall instead and were, surprise surprise, the first ones there. Everyone showed up soon after though and despite missing the wedding we had a lovely time at the beautiful reception catching up with Zach's old friends.

(Notice anything about our table card? It was saying the Groom's birthday was October 2. The table we were put at and it's a fact card about my birthday!! Haha ironic)
I was SO hungry by the time food started coming around and I wolfed this salad down, probably embarrassingly.
Then they brought out enormous popover rolls that were good, but it was so big I shared mine with Zach!
For dinner we went through a buffet line and I got a piece of chicken, green beans and mashed potatoes. (Passed on the red meat)
It was a delicious dinner and guess who passed on the wedding cupcakes? Never thought you would see the day did you? ;) Well I had to keep true to my snack fast! (Also avoided the crowded bar where everyone was getting their wine).

I will leave you with some cuteness...
That's the bride and groom's baby :)
