HAU TREE LANAI

Thursday Evening

After reading at the beach got a bit windy this afternoon I came back to our hotel to read in one of our funny lobby chairs.

Zach and I decided to head to La Cucaracha by our hotel for happy hour since our dinner wasn't until late tonight! I had one of these passion fruit drinks:
And we shared some chips and queso.
Zach had a little running around to do, so I read some more and worked on editing a few 5,000 pictures. Then it was time to get ready for our LAST big dinner in Hawaii.

We walked a mile or so to Hau Tree Lanai- a beautiful restaurant set right on the beach.

We got a bottle of champagne (champagne is for celebrating- and we are celebrating the end of a successful vacay!!) that was fabulous.

I had half a biscuit before ordering.
The meal officially started with an appetizer: Pan smoked island style duck breast on a poi-green onion wild rice pancake with tropical fruit salsa.
GREAT DUCK!!

For my meal I got the Scampi Provencale: succulent jumbo shrimp sautéed with garlic white wine butter on a bed of linguini pasta.
This was so creamy and so delicious and the mushrooms were incredible!!

Zach ordered the fresh fish of the day- Opah- prepared sautéed with a lemon caper beurre blanc sauce.
When you have had fish that has just been caught and prepared that day, nothing else compares! To end the dinner they brought us out a free (large!) dessert for our anniversary. Every reservation we make at a nice place we let them know we are celebrating :)
We think this was a cheesecake? Whatever it was it was a good ending to a fantastic dinner!
