A NEW CONVERT

Saturday Afternoon

After breakfast this morning we had some time to kill before our next thing. We walked around Kula Marketplace and browsed through all kinds of neat stuff. Then we napped in the car a bit more until it was time for....Tedeschi Winery!
Maui's only winery, but it has been around since 1973! We got to go in and do a tasting of four wines each.

They make pineapple wine here (along with grape wine) and that was so crazy! The nose is completely true to smelling a pineapple and the flavors are so good. Surprisingly it is not overpoweringly sweet either! After the tasting we joined several other people on going on a tour of the grounds. The woman who conducted our tasting did the tour as well. She called herself "Auntie Em" and was super knowledgeable and said "right on!" 50 times if she said it once :) We had a fun time and learned a lot of really cool history about not just the wine but Maui too!

Of course we picked up a few bottles to take to our condo and then were on our way to West Maui! We stopped in Lahaina for lunch at a place called Star Noodle. A bit out of the way, but definitely worth it! First we shared the steamed pork buns:

They came in a basket with several sauces to try on them. The buns were so doughy soft and the pork as tender as could be- no wonder these were a top recommendation!

The other dish we shared was a big bowl of hot and sour noodle soup:
This, I'm sure you guessed, was also great. :) We really aren't too hard to please.... On the way to our condo we made a stop on Front Street (the main strip of Lahaina) to Lahaina Fudge Company. I had been dying to visit this place since I read about it months ago. I loooove fudge (GOOD fudge) but it is just not that prevalent. Or if you do find it at a store it's dry and hard and not GOOD fudge.

Well I knew this place was going to have amazing fudge and I was not disappointed!! There were so many flavors to choose from, but for this time I went with a square of lava flow (their best seller) and a square of cookies 'n cream.
Zach tried these and was bowled over. He always thought fudge was boring and that he didn't like it all that much but now he is a full-fledged fudge convert! :) He couldn't stop raving about it.

Finally it was time to discover our condo. We had high hopes for the view because I had rented a penthouse corner condo. So we were the very top floor with a corner room with two lanais (balconies). It was better than we could have hoped for!!!
The main lanai has the most amazing view and is huge with a big table out there.

The second lanai is off the bedroom and it is incredible to be able to sit on the bed and just watch the ocean.

We celebrated with glasses of champagne with hibiscus flowers in them that we picked up at Kula Marketplace :)

LOVE OUR CONDO!!!
