ROAD TO HANA TIME TWO

Tuesday Evening

By the time we got back to our condo this afternoon it was beautiful out! So we took advantage of the sun to enjoy some more time on our beach. Along with some water-bottle wine :)

Got ready for dinner with yet another sunset and another glass of champagne :)...

Tonight's dinner was at the highly rated Lahaina Grill. We each got a cocktail to start out with and it they were some of the best drinks of the whole trip! Very unique with great flavor!!

To kick off our meal we got their signature appetizer- "The Cake Walk"
It's an arrangement of petite servings of: maine lobster crab cake, pacific northwest white rock shrimp cake and seared ahi cake. Fabulous!!

I also ate one of these fluffy rolls with the delicious garlic butter.
My entree was a veal chop from Marcho Farms (a local Maui farm) served with pommery mustard, sautéed big island king alii oyster mushrooms, and herbed truffle risotto. The flavor of this was great, but unfortunately I have a bit of a chewing problem and this was really marbled. Ever since I was little I have a terrible time chewing meat, especially fatty meat- it's like my back teeth just have no bit to them! So this was a bit difficult to eat, but I still enjoyed it!
Zach got the all-natural braised pork shank with chipotle-hawaiian demi-glace served with wasabi mashed potatoes. Now that meat wasn't chewy at all!!!
We ended the meal with this lovely art dessert called "Road to Hana."

Layers of Hawaiian vintage chocolate cake, chocolate sour cream mousse, and macadamia nut caramel. The curvy wafer is supposed to represent the road and the sugar design is representing waterfalls!

Another lovely evening!
