Friday Afternoon
Maui is a completely different pace than Oahu, so much more laid back and less touristy. We decided immediately that we loved it!! We had some time to kill before we could check into our hotel for the night, so we headed to our lunch spot- Monkeypods!
Monkeypods is known to have amazing food that is all bought local and/or organic with really unique cooking styles.
I got a mimosa because they were on special, but it was kind of small so I got their famous mai tai with a lilikoi foam next.
Zach and I ordered a rock shrimp and calamari plate with an amazing dipping sauce that we wiped out :)
Then we shared the most unique pizza- half asian pear/arugula/gorgonzola and half butternut squash/carmelized onions/pine nuts/white sauce.
Those may sound like odd combinations, but they were great!! Contemplated dessert...got a bloody mary instead ;)
Then we headed to our hotel that we were staying at just for the night. Played on our beach for a bit before it was time to get ready for dinner!
