THE BABYSITTERS CLUB

Saturday Evening

Remember that series of books "The Babysitter's Club" that had hundreds of volumes? Where people could call a number to get a babysitter like Claudia or Mary-Ann or Kristy or Stacy? And they would pack a kid kit to entertain the kids? Yeah me either.... ;)

Tonight Zach and I babysat his cousin Noah who is 18 months old and is coincidentally starting in my daycare next week! I don't think we have babysat anyone since we have been married and we looked at it as quite the adventure!

We started out by taking Noah on a 40 minute walk :) Exercise and conversation and baby entertaining all in one! When we got home it was dinner-time - for Noah anyway! Unfortunately he really didn't want anything to do with food and would much rather play in the backyard. So we did. Then we played inside with cars and legos and tools while occasionally getting a bite of food in his mouth.
It was great fun (Zach even changed his first diaper!!) but the nice thing with babysitting (and with daycare) is that at the end of the night you get to send the child back with their parents :) And then go out to dinner!! Which of course needs to start with a drink after all that hard work ;)
For dinner I ordered a N'awlins Sizzler which was a rice dish with peppers and onions, shrimp, chicken and smoked sausage.
Unfortunately this wasn't great. Too many onions and not a ton of flavor. I didn't eat all of it.

All in all a fun and a little tiring evening!
