BLOWN AWAY

Monday Afternoon

I can't get over how much I love Hawaii. Not kidding- I don't ever want to come back!! Luckily I still have around two weeks of vacay :) So after our run this morning we suited up and headed out. It was a MUCH windier/cloudier day than normal, but luckily that didn't affect any of the plans I had for today. We headed first to a point called Lanai Lookout. Not really much other than a scenic overlook, but beautiful nonetheless.
After Lanai we went to Holona Blowhole. The windiness was to our advantage here because it really caused the blowhole to shoot up!
We pulled off at a little overlook where there was a Casting Shrine (casting as in fishing) and we noticed the top of a strange structure way down by the sea. We saw little reflectors all over the rock creating a sort of path so of course we climbed over the edge and took off down the mountain!
Turned out to be a little fishing area. It was so strange! There was even this little sign referring to it as YOUR fishing area...
It was really pretty down there so close to the crashing waves and there were little tide pools all scattered about.
Next was Sandy Beach for a bit of sunshine and some fun pictures!

When we got hungry for lunch we headed to Waimanalo which was NOT crowded today and we ate our picnic at a table. I had half a giant fuji apple, some pop chips and veggies with dip.
It started to get really, really windy so we decided to embrace the wind by going to the windiest place in Hawaii- Nu'anuu Pali Lookout. This place is ALWAYS windy, so it is even more so on a very windy day.
I really think if I would have stood on a ledge I would have just blown away!

We headed back into Honolulu and made a spontaneous stop at the famous Leonard's Bakery. Totally looks like a place you would see on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives or something. Another local gem! They are known for their malasadas (maybe even the first place that started doing them?). Malasadas are sugar coated puffy pastry type things that are served warm. We got an original, a custard filled and a dobash (chocolate) filled to share.

They tasted soo good!! We wanted like 5 more of them, but we also got this baby peanut butter brownie, so that had to do :)
Came back to the hotel and I was handed this cocktail while typing up my post!
Quite the afternoon!!!
