FUN FOR FATHERS

Sunday Afternoon

Well, it's time to let you all in on a little secret. We own a putt-putt course and ice cream shop.
Hahaha crazy right?! Well here's the gist- Zach and his parents do real estate and they buy properties that have been foreclosed on, fix them up and flip them for profit. A couple of months ago a local putt-putt course/ice cream place came up on the docket at an incredibly good price.
Zach bid on the property (thinking there was no way on EARTH it would go for as low as it started) and....no one else bid! It was incredibly crazy and suddenly we found ourselves (along with Ron and Vicki, my in-laws) owners of a long-standing location. It has been around for 30 years and always did incredibly well, the only reason it was closed down was financial trouble for the previous owners.
Zach and his parents, along with others, have spent the past couple of months fixing up the putt putt course and figuring out ice cream shop details. It looks worlds better than when we bought it, and even though there is still a substantial amount to do they are hoping to have it open in just a few weeks.
For now though, it's not open to the public so it's all ours :) Perfect location for a sunny Father's Day with Zach's family!

We all met at the ice cream shop to eat and then putt putt. Lunch was a carry-in affair with Pizza King pizza being the main event. I brought leftover chickpea salad from last night to contribute and was happy to see a bunch of fruit there!

I put together a plate of mostly fruit with some salad and did the unthinkable...only had TWO pieces of pizza!! Pizza King slices are just tiny little squares and I normally have at least 5, but I was trying to be smart and only eat what I truly wanted and it worked out great!
Had a slice of royal feast (my favorite) and a slice of veggie. (I ate on the smaller salad size plates. Should have taken a picture of Zach's big banquet sized plate loaded with pizza- how does he do that?!)

Had one more plate of fruit and salad plus a teensy brownie piece.
After lunch we all hammed around on the putt putt course and it was a great time!

Found baby birdies!!!

Such a fun and memorable Father's Day. Only wish my Dad had been around to join!!
