ROUND TOP DRIVE

Saturday Evening

Well we didn't end up making it down to our pool because we switched up our evening plans a little. We spent a little time relaxing in our room and made my favorite new drink!! We picked up mango rum, club soda and limes to make a drink with and it tastes awesome and is only 120 calories!!!! Score.
Along with our cocktail we shared one of the cookies we picked up from Honolulu cookie company.
Then we showered and headed off on a mountain drive. It's called Mt. Tantalus/Round Top Drive and I had never done this in any of my previous Hawaii visits. Let me say- it is NOT to be missed!!! We followed the advice of readers and drove UP the Tantalus side to see the rainforest in sunlight, stopped at the top to see the sunset, and drove DOWN the Round Top side to see Waikiki lit up in lights. Our drive in photos:

We were doing dinner in two shifts tonight. The first shift was up here on the mountain. We packed a PB&J and split it in half, a handful of Popchips and shared this enormous (and super sweet and tasty) fuji apple from the market-great little mini dinner before sunset.

When we got off the mountain it was time to search out the second half of dinner-drinks, appetizer and dessert. We found Tikis a mile down the strip where we had eaten on our honeymoon. We headed upstairs to their patio to enjoy live music and I promptly ordered something tropical to drink.
For our appetizer we got "Island Style Bacon and Eggs." It was a fist sized piece of pork shoulder on top of a kobocha squash puree with a thumb sized quail egg on top! Definitely really small to share, but so much fun. I have never seen an egg so tiny in my life. The puree was especially tasty.
For dessert we ordered a White Chocolate Banana and Strawberry Souffle. Yummmm

Any additional exercise today was walking, walking, walking! We walk everywhere and from our condo to the other end of the strip is a little over a mile which we traverse multiple times a day. But I don't call that exercise, I call in soaking in Hawaii!!! :D
