HALF-FINISHED

Saturday Night

*Added text to the Prohibition post from Friday night*

So after Ted Drewes we had time to kill and were trying to decide what to do. We lit upon the idea of going to see a movie (which we don't do all that often) and Zach found a theater in downtown St. Louis, little did we know that we were about to go to the coolest theater we'd ever been to...

I knew it was going to be nice when we saw it was in this gorgeous convention center with a real marquee.
The building was just beautiful inside and we felt underdressed! Like we ought to be in black-tie wear to see the movie! Haha. When we got to the theater part there was a bar! We could not get over the fact that the bartender told us we were allowed to take our drinks into the movie. He poured me the biggest glass of cab sav the world has ever seen, but I made it last the whole movie :)
Each theater was pretty small, only probably 15 rows of seats that were just a few deep. Gorgeous murals on the walls. We saw The Campaign and it was funny and our crowd was funny! We had the best crowd of people at our movie, everyone was laughing and having a great time :) While walking out of our theater we were served peppermints and hershey kisses off a silver tray...what?! Too cool.

Dinner was a surprise to Zach. I took him to Schlafly Tap Room! I participated by ordering a beer (very un-like me) but only finished half of it, just not a beer gal :)
Zach and I shared a cup of beer cheese soup that was magnificent with this little shooter of beer that you pour in the soup when it comes. Serve me beer this way and it's great! :)

For dinner I ordered the poached egg salad:poached egg, potato skins, pickled onions, frisee
Look at that gorgeous egg! This was a good salad, but I only ate half- we were just still full!!
Shared mashed potatoes and gravy- again, ate half. The theme of the night!
And to round it all off, Zach ate half of his warm potato salad and ham and fried egg toastie!
Though I DID manage to eat the whole of the free cookie we got when we checked into our DoubleTree Hilton in Chesterfield. Who hands out cookies to the guests?! Not complaining...
