CAFE 4

Monday Afternoon

Last meal in Knoxville :( We chose yet another farm-to-table restaurant called Cafe 4 (which was in Market Square like everywhere else we go!) and were pleased to find it just as good as everywhere else we have been enjoying! It had that really mod/industrial/natural materials decor that we love with one good looking menu!
Zach got the chicken and waffles with green beans. I don’t know if you have ever had chicken and waffles but it’s great! I know it sounds really strange, but we had our first experience with it in Vegas last year and were hooked! He was so excited about his dish today and wouldn’t stop raving about it! He was right, it was great :)
I ordered a turkey sandwich with a side of fruit. Ate it open-faced and good thing too! It was so filling that if I would have eaten the top half of the bun I wouldn’t have been able to finish my sandwich! Eating the good stuff that you pay for on the inside is more important than eating more bread :) (skipped the rolls at the table as well)

After lunch for our last hurrah we went to Coolato Gelato (also downtown) for a treat. They had several really fun flavors and after sampling the Elvis and the Pretzel I got a small cup of Elvis and Zach got a small of mascarpone pistachio. The smalls were huge!

Elvis flavor (in case you didn’t know) is always some combination that combines banana and peanut butter and often chocolate. Happy mouth :)

Had to sadly say goodbye to Heather and John (and their cats Snarf and Penny) and hit the road for Muncie. Goodbye Tennessee! Don’t know when we will see you again, but we do know we will see Heather and John in July- hooray!!
